Are you an experienced Investigations, Audit or Business Continuity Professional?

One West is a independent function within the local authority delivering specialist professional services and due to continued growth we are specifically looking to recruit a range of professionals to support a broad range of clients both internal and external.

Ideally, we are looking for individuals with experience in investigation work, Internal Audit or Business Continuity who can work for us on a casual/ad hoc basis to support specific pieces of work.

As an Associate Investigator you will be required to carry out investigations independently through all the stages of a formal disciplinary, grievance or complaints process, carry out investigation interviews sensitively and prepare summary reports for presentation at panel hearings.

As an Associate Business Continuity Officer, you will be required to advise and support clients in dealing with significant business interruptions. This will include helping them prepare Business Continuity Plans, exercise and test plans and actively find ways to manage their risks. We are particularly interested in individuals with experience in cyber and disaster recovery skills.

As an Associate Auditor you will be required to carry out individual audits for any of our Clients on a range of areas and risks. You will be expected to be able to prepare audit briefs, carry out appropriate testing and prepare reports. We are particularly interested in individuals with skills and experience in IT or Procurement.

You will be given freedom to operate but in return we will expect a confident and focussed individual who is able to communicate well at all levels, not just to officers in One West but to the Clients they will be serving. We are looking for applicants who can offer a value added service not a business as usual approach.

As an Associate you will be employed as a ‘Casual’ with no guarantee of any work, paid on the basis of hours worked with an additional 13% on top of the advertised salary to reflect that sickness or leave is not applicable. You will also have the added flexibility of only working when it fits with your circumstances.

Much of our work can be delivered remotely but some travelling may be necessary in the future as the situation with regards to the Pandemic changes (reasonable travel expenses will be reimbursed in line with the Council’s agreed rates).

Your main place of work will be the award-winning, modern Civic Centre in Keynsham, halfway between Bath and Bristol, easily accessible via car or public transport, with a train station 5 minutes’ walk away.
