#1 We are looking for an Information Governance Officer

Application closing date: 7th July 2022

Location: Keynsham

Salary: £25,419 – £27,514 per annum

Contractual hours: 37

Basis: Full time

Due to continued growth, we are looking to recruit an Information Governance Officer to enable their business to grow effectively and increase levels of customer satisfaction.

You’ll be responsible for supporting the delivery of day-to-day Information Governance services to Bath & North East Somerset Council as well as another council.

Specifically, you will be responsible for maintaining the allocation of Data Protection and Freedom of Information (FOI) / Environmental Information Regulation (EIR) queries and requests.

You’ll also be liaising with directorate Information Governance Leads, providing advice, completing reviews of client operations in relation to Information Governance, analysis of risks and levels of compliance and preparation of reports with action and improvement plans.

You may get involved in providing training to improve understanding and awareness. There is potential for you to help support our Information Governance services to our external commercial clients such as schools, academies, Multi-Academy Trusts and Town/Parish Councils.

Ideally, we are looking for individuals who have a background in Information Governance, including those with IT or Information Security, Data Protection, FOI/EIR, or Records Management experience.  However, we welcome applications from those with good administration skills and a passion and drive in this ever-expanding area of work.

We will provide you with extensive training opportunities in the Information Governance field to further your development and the quality of service we offer.

You’ll find the role is rewarding, and you will be working with a high performing team (under the supervision of a Senior Information Governance Officer) who want to provide excellence in service delivery.

We offer a supportive flexible work/life balance, including working at home with the latest technology – we have been operating a fully remote service during the Covid-19 pandemic.

Our main offices are the award-winning, modern Civic Centre in Keynsham, halfway between Bath and Bristol, easily accessible via car or public transport, with a train station 5 minutes’ walk away.

There are also opportunities to be based at our other council offices in the Guildhall, Bath, and in The Hollies, Midsomer Norton, as well as our client’s base in Clevedon and Weston-super-Mare.

So, if you like what you’ve read so far, have a passion for data protection and transparency, have excellent customer relationship skills, an organised and disciplined approach, enjoy working with other like-minded individuals, as well as being able to work on your own, then we’d welcome your application!

Have you considered a career in Internal Audit?

We are looking for an individual to primarily help provide support and assurance to our Multi-Academy Trust and Schools clients.

As an Auditor you will be working within our Audit West team which provides professional services across the South West.

You will be supported with a full training programme to enable you to carry out the role and to develop your internal audit skills. The career grade will enable you to progress based on your skills and knowledge.
